The solution for more power is simple: more air plus more fuel equals a bigger explosion. But how do you force more air in? Our new Performance Air Inlet Scoops are designed to do just that. These scoops funnel more ambient air directly to your intake and allow it to breathe in as much air as possible. By directing that air where it needs to go, you can ensure all the air your engine needs to operate at peak efficiency will make it to your intake.
Enhance the intake system on your 2015+ Volkswagen GTI or Golf R to its fullest potential with our ECS Tuning Performance Air Inlet Scoops! Strategically placed within the grille, these help to grab and direct ambient air right into your aftermarket or modified OEM intake system’s opening.
The factory grille leaves provisions that allow intake air into the inlet duct on the passenger side but leaves out a direct flow-path to the air inlet on the driver’s side. From aftermarket dual air intake ducts to DIY’ers modifying their OEM grille to allow for a more direct route on the driver’s side, our Product Development Team saw an opportunity to serve the aftermarket with a clean, OEM-type solution that not only provides for a cleaner install, but directs cool outside air directly into the air intake passage(s).
To help you achieve the best results during installation each kit includes an adhesive-backed vinyl trim template for both left and right side positions that align to OEM features on the grille. Once in place, the scoop opening can then be easily cut open with a Dremel or hack saw/drill combo.

The ECS Inlet Scoops are designed to work with OEM honeycomb and slant/bar style grilles on MK7 / MK7.5 GTI, Golf R and Alltrack models
Manufactured from laser cut and CNC-bent 5052 sheet aluminum
Trim Plates are designed to replicate the OEM Honeycomb design and are fine wrinkle black powdercoated to match OEM-textured surfaces
Inlet Scoops are available in either fine wrinkle black or fine wrinkle red powdercoated finishes and available in either left-side, right-side, or combined locations

Our ECS Performance Inlet Scoop Kit was designed, engineered, tested and quality inspected by our Research and Development team in our Wadsworth, Ohio facility. We strive for the highest level of precision and quality through leading-edge product development technology including FARO laser scanning for reverse engineering and quality inspection, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, rapid prototyping utilizing our in-house 3D printer, and rigorous long term product testing.
